CHAPTER 63 AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF BENSON, NORTH CAROLINA. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

That the board of commissioners shall have power and authority to put to and keep at work upon the streets or public works of the town any person or persons who may fail to pay any fine, penalty, or forfeiture which may have been imposed on such person or persons by the mayor of the town; and the said comMissioners shall have authority by the ordinance and by-laws of the town to confine, control, and manage such person or persons until the said fines, penalties, forfeiture, etc., together with the costs thereof, shall have been fully paid, under such rate for labor and board as the commissioners may establish. |
