CHAPTER 463 An act to authorize the county commissioners of McDowell county to levy a special tax. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

It shall be the duty of said building committee to build and construct a common jail for the said county of MeDowell in the town of Marion, on the lot now owned by said county, formerly used as the common jail lot; said committee is hereby authorized and empowered*to design, contract and construct said jail to the best advantage, with full power to do any and all acts necessary to enable them to carry out the provisions of this act.
